With every milestone, you take time to reflect on where you started and where you are today. One year ago we launched Never Naked Boutique. It’s been one of the most trying and difficult things we’ve ever done. We have learned that we communicate in varying shades of colors. We don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things (most things) and we constantly are challenging one another for ‘more’. The past year we think it’s fair to state that we have grown both professionally and personally. We’ve learned what we thought we knew meant nothing and our styling ability was actually ‘less cool’ than we thought. At our one year event just a couple weeks ago, we both looked around and thought, “Wow these 200+ people are really all here?” But, it hasn’t been easy.
There are about 10 phrases that were on repeat these past 12 months:
- We are not as cool as I thought we were
- Looking "put together" is really tough everyday… how do people do it?
- Can you help me?
- Our budget is how much again?
- Shit, I have NO idea how to do that
- I need help organizing…. what’s our priority again?
- Let’s count inventory
- I’m sorry I yelled
- Love you, Sissy
- We can do this!
This blog post isn’t meant to be long winded. It’s meant to say that starting your own business has been and continues to be hard work. It takes time and a mindset that you CAN do it! We recently listened to a pod cast from Mark Cuban and he said, "know your passion and know your worth". This 1 year milestone we’ve learned that we have so much more to learn about our passion and that we are worth the patience required of one another to achieve our next 12 months. Cheers to our first year in and many more to follow!
